After disclosing that he is ill and doesn’t have much time left to live, Eddie’s former business partner and friend Milo, portrayed by actor Danny Glover, decides to live out the remainder of his life inside of the Jumanji video game as the Pegasus-inspired flying horse avatar, Cyclone. Is it possible that Van Pelt was being played by the same person controlling Jurgen? Has there been an ultimate showdown between our heroes and this unknown villain in the works since the reboot? Whoever the villain may be, this plot twist adds a new sense of agency to the actions of the villain avatar, meaning that while our heroes believed the villains in Jumanji were simply NPCs, the person playing the villain might have known they were facing other real-world players.Īfter the events of Jumanji: The Next Level, viewers are left with some unanswered questions about the way time functions inside of the video game console. If Jurgen the Brutal was an avatar, then it’s also likely that Professor Van Pelt (Bobby Cannavale), the evil archeologist who stole the jewel Jaguar’s Eye, was also an avatar that was selected and played by someone in the real world. The next question that comes to mind is who is this mystery player controlling the actions of the antagonist? Is it someone we’ve met in past films? Or will it be someone completely new who’s been trapped in the game for years attracted to the power and authority that comes with playing an evil villain?
